Free tax help at Prendergast Library starts Feb. 3

JAMESTOWN, NY -- The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program, sponsored by the Chautauqua County Earned Income Tax Credit Coalition, will be providing free tax assistance services at the Prendergast Library.

Through VITA, IRS-certified volunteers will prepare and file federal and state returns electronically at no cost to income-eligible clients.

Help will be available in the Public Computer Center at Prendergast Library, 509 Cherry Street in Jamestown  from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Fridays, February 3 through March 23.

There are also six other seasonal and two permanent free tax preparation sites in the area.
