On today's radar,
Yesterday I spoke about the Artist Profile on Gina V to call attention to the great news about this talented musician. Today, I'll be talking about the another local band by the name of Universe Shark.
According to their website bio, “Universe Shark is a band of musicians.” A simply put and modest way of saying that drummer Dave Prinzbach, bass player Mike DiSalvo, guitar player Adam Bronstein and electric keyboardist Scott Martin are a group of naturally talentend performers. The band drew the majority of their influence from the original music scene in Buffalo and the flourishing national Jam scene. As a result, Universe Shark offers listeners a combination of two very different experiences.
“A Universe Shark show is expected to contain many facets of a rock and roll incident, with the intimacy and sonic risk most common in a smokey jazz club.”
The band formed in summer of 2008 and just after their three year anniversary had played over 100 live and regional performances. Chautauqua County residents have two chances to catch Universe Shark in local venues in the following weeks. On Saturday, February 4 at 10 p.m. they will be jamming for two sets at EBC West in Fredonia. Then on Saturday, February 11 they will appear at Jamestown's very own Mojo's.
