4 WCA Staff Members Honored As Longest-serving Employees

JAMESTOWN, N.Y. — Connie Caldwell, Food Service Manager; Deborah Castiglione, Supervising Physical Therapist; Beebe Ehrman, Patient Registrar; and Ruth Walton, Nurse Manager, Special Care Unit and Observation, will celebrate their fortieth year of service this June during the “53rd WCA Hospital Employee Recognition Dinner” which will be held at the Lakewood Rod & Gun Club on Monday, June 4 at 5:45 p.m. Caldwell, Castiglione, Ehrman and Walton will be honored as the longest-serving honorees at this year’s event.

The WCA Hospital Board of Directors will honor 131 employees at the ceremonial dinner held each year to to honor employees who have achieved noteworthy length of service marks at WCA. In addition to being recognized at the event, employees receive commemorative gifts to signify their achievement.

“Our honorees are an inspiration to others and truly exemplify our mission at WCA,” said Betsy T. Wright, WCA Hospital President/CEO. “The patients and families we serve can take comfort in knowing that our healthcare team is backed by years of dedicated and unwavering service to our hospital. This annual commemorative celebration serves as a reminder that hospitals are the foundations of communities and serve people in every community, from all walks of life.”

Connie Caldwell began her career at WCA Hospital on October 26, 1970, as a student Dietary Jr. Aide. She received promotions as Dietary Clerk in 1974 and Food Service Supervisor in 1974. She has served in her current position as Manager of Food Service since April 15, 2007.

Deborah Castiglione joined the WCA family on May 1, 1972, as a staff physical therapist. Deborah received promotions on November 16, 1987, serving as a physical therapy clinical instructor, and senior physical therapist on June 17, 1990. She currently serves as the supervising physical therapist at the WCA Center For Orthopedics, Sports Medicine & Rehabilitation.

Beebe Ehrman was hired on April 25, 1966, in the position of Ward Maid. She joined the Admission team as Admission Clerk, on September 13, 1971. She currently serves as Patient Registrar in the Admission Department of WCA.

A Nurse Manager on the Special Care Unit of WCA Hospital, Ruth Walton, registered nurse, joined the WCA family on June 14, 1971. She was promoted to Senior Staff Nurse on September 28, 1975, and assumed the role of Head Nurse on the Special Care Unit, on January 11, 1981. Her current responsibilities include oversight for patient observation.

Karen L. Bohall, Director of Human Resources at the hospital noted, “We are very proud of what our honorees have accomplished and inspired to have such highly-skilled, compassionate individuals caring for our patients. This honorary banquet is our way of saying 'thank you'."

One hundred and thirty one employees will be honored for 2,165 years of combined service. Employees will be honored who have reached 5, 10, 20, 30, 35, and 40-year anniversaries with the hospital. The highlight of the evening’s celebration will be a video tribute to top honorees.
