JAMESTOWN, NY — On March 12 at WCA Hospital, Tiarra Kelly and Adam Akin welcomed their newborn daughter, Maci-Lynn Elizabeth Akin, into the world.
To help celebrate the birth of Maci-Lynn and to commemorate the 100th birthday of the Girl Scouts, Brownie Troop #20030, which meets at R.R. Rogers Elementary School in Jamestown, visited WCA and presented the family with a special gift basket they had created through individual donations by each of the twelve girls in the troop.
On March 12, 1912, eighteen girls signed up for the first Girl Scout program in Savannah, Georgia and the rest is history. It has since grown to 3.7 million members.
