Falconer is a village in the town of Ellicott, located on the eastern edge of the city of Jamestown. The town was originally called Worksburg, after Edward Work, who purchased the land from the Holland Land Company in August, 1807. In 1874, the village was renamed after the Falconer family, which played a key role in its development. Falconer was incorporated as a village in 1891.
