JAMESTOWN, NY – Last fall’s market basket class at the Audubon Center and Sanctuary was so well received that Audubon is offering another opportunity to learn basket making.
On Saturday, March 24, instructors Laurie Ennis and Ed Yaeger will teach how to make a round basket, involving different materials and techniques than the previous workshop. Participants will again create a basket that would be a unique and practical addition to their home or a thoughtful and personal gift.
With the class beginning at 10:00 a.m. and finishing at 3:00 p.m., participants are invited to bring their own lunch. Coffee and tea will be provided.
Students will be working with their hands so dexterity is needed.
The cost is $32 for members, $36 for nonmembers, and includes materials to make a round basket, plus coffee and tea. Please bring an old bath towel and, if desired, your own spray bottle with water.
Reservations are required by Monday, March 19. There is a maximum enrollment of 15 people, so early response is recommended.
To make reservations, stop by the Audubon Center, call (716) 569-2345, email info@jamestownaudubon.org, or use the on-line form.
The Audubon Center and Sanctuary is at 1600 Riverside Road, off Route 62 between Jamestown and Warren. Hours are 10:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday-Saturday, and 1:00-5:00 p.m. Sundays.
